Spray Tan Guidelines – Attaining Great Results The First Time!

Friday, March 12th, 2010

The summer is my favorite season. I love the warmth of the sun’s rays and I also love the great tan that I always get from it. As a matter of fact, I love the tan so much that I can’t stand it when summer goes and autumn & winter arrive. Thankfully, nowadays we have spray on tans to remedy this little problem!

The market for spray on tans has gotten really big in recent years. Today’s market is completely flooded with all sorts of spray tans, some good and some not so good. Some of the good ones can still give you a horrible tan if you use them incorrectly. A spray on tan will never do all the work for you!

I’ve tried many spray on tans in the last few years. I know which ones work and which ones doesn’t. The same goes for tan bed accelerators. I’ve used many of those as well. With accelerators, you still need to find yourself a tanning bed. With a spray on tan, the tanning bed is not necessary anymore. Here are a few tips on getting the best results with spray tans!

1. Exfoliation & Washing. Prior to applying any sort of self tanning spray, make sure that you have scrubbed your body and that you have also cleansed it. Any natural exfoliation cream will do. Make sure to apply it all over your body. Your face, knees and elbows… everything! Then take a good shower!

2. Moisturization. If you want the best results, please hydrate yourself properly before spraying yourself with a tan. If you do this a few hours before applying the spray on, you will prepare your skin to readily accept the sprayed on tan.

3. Experiment. This is especially important if you are a first timer at this. Before applying a spray tan, decide which part of your body you want to try it out on first. Don’t do a full body tanning on your first go. First you need to determine what kind of skin you have and how it reacts to the spray tan.

4. Clothes. Once you’ve decided which part of your body needs to get a tan, find clothes that cover the body parts that you do not want to tan. Also, make sure to wear rubber gloves in order to avoid over exposing your hands to the stuff.

If you stick to these very important guidelines, chances of your tan going wrong are greatly diminished. Keep experimenting, because there is always room for improvement!

4 Reasons Why High Carb Diets Can Increase Jiggly Arm Flab

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Figuring the right nutritional approach for losing arm flab can be like finding a needle in a haystack because with all the marketing campaigns out there the truth has been hidden amongst all the falsehoods.

I’m pretty sure you’re having a challenge finding the perfect diet.

If you are, don’t worry. I suspect many women are in your exact same situation. I remember when I used to get so frustrated with all the different diets out there.

So here are 4 reasons why you shouldn’t go on a high carb diet for arm flab loss:

1. Sugar overdose. Being around lots of carbs means being around lots of sugar in one form or another. And if you have a sugar addiction you should definitely stay away from high carb eating. After all, once you start having sugar it will be very hard to stop.

2. Reduced insulin effectiveness. If your body gets too many carbs at once, it will become insulin resistant. This horrible state makes it hard for muscles to absorb nutrients. And if your muscles aren’t absorbing nutrients then your arm fat is.

3. Hunger swings. Lots of carbs translates into fluctuating levels of blood sugar. And once your blood sugar goes down, you’ll be very very hungry. The key here is to have massive amounts of vegetables with EVERY high carb meal. Only then will blood sugar be somewhat stabilized.

4. Sluggish arm fat loss. If you’re looking for fast results this probably isn’t the diet for you. When cranking up the carb intake, fat loss comes at a very slow rate.

Now high carb diets can work for some women: those with fast metabolisms and no insulin resistance. How can you tell if you’re insulin resistant? Look at your stomach and if it’s disproportionately large compared to your other body parts, then you may be insulin resistant. Insulin resistance increase visceral fat, the fat that is around the organs in your stomach.

5 Lies About Reducing Bingo Wings And Protein

Friday, March 12th, 2010

There is simply way too much confusion out there because of all the fad diets and all the marketers. Women are more confused than ever when it comes to flabby arms and protein. Perhaps you are confused like I used to be?

I used to be lost amongst all the information.

Finding the truth can be like finding a needle in a haystack. There is simply way too much marketing material to navigate. Unfortunately, not knowing how to tweak your protein consumption can set back your flabby arms mission.

Thus, here are 5 myths about arm fat and protein intake:

1. Whole food is not as good as supplemental protein. This is a great statement for the supplement companies, but not for women wishing to reduce arm fat. Do not be swayed by the marketing claims, whole food will always be a better source of protein.

2. Having protein shakes galore reduces flabby arms. While protein from REGULAR FOOD improves hormonal profiles and regulates hunger, going overboard with shakes will set you back because you’ll get tons of calories without a sense of fullness.

3. Fast absorbing protein is best. Just like with carbohydrates, slower digestion is better. Any time you spike a nutrient in your bloodstream there is going to be a subsequent drop. And protein is no exception.

4. Bigger is better. We love big portions and protein is no exception. If your protein intake exceeds 30% of your total caloric intake, however, the positives turn into negatives. So have small servings of protein in every meal and stay away from the meat buffets.

5. Hormone-enhanced meat is bad. There have NOT been any solid studies showing a direct link to hormone-enhanced meat and a decrease in female health. However, there are solid ethical (and ecological) arguments for avoiding said meats.

Losing arm fat doesn’t have to give you a headache. And with the above information you are a couple steps closer to optimizing your protein intake. After all, knowing how to eat protein the right way is critical for sexy arm success.

What Kinds Care For the Elderly Is There

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Are you currently in a position where it may be required to arrange for aging care? It does not matter if the place is for yourself or someone you love, determining the best aging care facility is essential. Here’s a look at some of the different aging care options and how to select the right facility for your needs.

You will want to be aware of that if someone suffers from certain medical conditions they will need very specialised care which could make some healthcare choices unacceptable. They can include Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, care following a massive stroke or heart attack, or even something similar to arthritis, where mobility is usually profoundly affected.

Do you like the idea of staying in your own home? Consider a care provider who will come in and help look after your needs. Think about the specific needs you will want met, and the home itself. If mobility is a problem, someone may need to move to a home with no stairs. If you cannot lift, consider having help with your housework and yard work. You should think carefully about the different things you need to do around the house and make sure that these are taken care of in order to make living at home as successful as possible.

There are also retirement homes, which may also be called assisted living facilities. These are fantastic if your health is good but you no longer want to live in your home or you want more companionship. One of the biggest problems that many elderly people can face is the feeling of isolation and the depression it can bring. Facilities where you still have your own living quarters but are around other people and can take part in activities may be what you need. Many retirement residences are now installing an alarm system into their residents’ rooms so that if there is a medical emergency, staff can be alerted with the press of a button.

You may be forced to look at a nursing home in order to take care of your specific health needs. If you are selecting a facility for a loved one, you need to make sure that the residents are healthy and well cared for. The cost of these facilities may be high, and there should be signs that the money is going back to the patients and being used to benefit them, as well as improve the facility. Look for a facility that can accommodate you or your loved one’s specific challenges and needs. Is there in house physiotherapy and routine medical check-ups? These can be important things to consider when picking a facility.

If your loved one is very ill you may be forced to consider palliative care. This can be a heartbreaking decision since, by admitting palliative care is needed you are admitting that there is little to no chance your loved one will get better. Palliative care arrangements should still ensure that your loved one is well cared for and that there is mental or physical stimulation when that is possible. Remember that you never know how long your loved one has left so you should plan for them to be as comfortable as possible for as long they can.

You have to think beyond the immediate situation when determining whether a particular aging care arrangement is best for your family. By learning about the aging process and any specific needs you have, you’ll find a facility that may assist you grow old gracefully and enjoy any remaining years you have.

Best Medicare Supplement Rates: Do You Need Medigap Insurance?

Friday, March 12th, 2010

It is wise to get the best medicare supplement rates in the market. You can easily compare rates from various providers on the internet. Medicare supplement insurance is commonly known as Medigap insurance. As the name implies, this insurance fills in the payment gap that is caused by the limits of Medicare. In this case, when your costs are higher than what Medicare can provide, Medigap can be used to pay the balance. Only necessary items are paid for by Medigap, and the charges must comply with Medicare standards. Since Medicare does not pay all costs and services, you will find many Medigap plans that will cover the deficit and many services.

Older people are familiar with Medicare. The Federal government is responsible for dispensing Medicare. Medicare is designed for people over the age of 65 years. It also includes people with disabilities regardless of their age. This means that any disabled person under 65 years old will qualify for Medicare. People with special diseases like Lou Gehrig disease, which is in an advanced stage, can also receive Medicare.

Remember that Medicare will not cover all your medical expenses. Expenses that cannot be covered by Medicare will be paid for by Medicare supplement insurance. Up to 12 plans are available for Medicare supplement insurance. These are standard plans starting from plan A to plan L.As expected, the plans are unique and they come with different benefits and provisions. As an example, plans L, K, J and F have high deductibles.

People who can afford to buy high premium or high quality insurance often do not need Medigap insurance. The advantage of high quality insurance is that it covers all your costs and the gaps that are left by Medicare are often covered. Before you apply for Medigap insurance, you must check what you are covered for and what you are not covered for.

When your former employer or present employer is providing you group health insurance, you may not need extra insurance.

In case you have a Medicare Advantage Plan (MAP), it will fill in the gaps and cover extra costs, making Medigap unnecessary.

If you join the QMB or Medicaid Program, an abbreviation of Qualified Medicare Beneficiary, you will not need Medicare supplement insurance because the program pays your personal expenses and Medicare premiums. This program will pay for other costs such as deductibles and coinsurance.

People who choose Medicare plan A, will not be required to pay for in-patient hospital services. The plan does not only cover costs for in-patients, but is also extends to post recovery costs. Nursing care will be provided at your home or at the hospital. The only cost that is not covered by this plan is the first three pints of blood for blood transfusion, but the rest will be paid for every year.

Medical Plan B is designed to pay for your medical expenses exclusive of your stay at the hospital. Medicare will cover 80 percent of your costs. Specific plans require fixed payments. With this plan, the services given to you as an outpatient will be paid by Medicare.

The Popular Hair Loss Treatment Provillus Examined

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Hair loss is a big concern for some men. There are men that go through costly surgeries or try to cover up their baldness with a hat. Another effective method is by using Provillus for Men. This is an FDA approved formula designed specifically with men’s needs in mind. Men who desire to have a fuller head of hair have turned to Provillus and found many benefits are gained by using it. Would you like to know more about this product? Then continue reading.

This type of hair re-growth formula is geared for stopping hair loss from going any further and focusing on the roots of each individual hair follicle. There isn’t a prescription necessary, plus it can be sent through the mail.

Other benefits of purchasing this formula are that there’s no need for a prescription, it can be mailed to the house, the shipping information is kept private, and the billing data is very discreet.

Most men are bald because of genetics, this is commonly known as Male Pattern Baldness. Besides genetics, hormones have also been known to play a part in MPB. When the male hormone called androgen gets altered to become DHT, this affects the hair follicles.

When DHT gets a hold of a hair follicle, it attaches to the receptors of the follicle and cause it to produce hairs that become progressively thinner. Eventually, hairs stop growing at all and that is where Provillus comes in to help.

With this product, there is a pretty good chance of success. However, if you look online, you will find some complaints about it, so we are no going to say it is 100 percent proven to work. However, we will say that it contains a multitude of vitamins and minerals that are used to nourish the hair and scalp. While these are working on creating healthy hair, the Minoxidil stimulates hair growth, by blocking DHT. Once the hormonal situation is under control, hair will finally have a change to grow as full and thick as it once was. After the hair has had a chance to regrow, there’s no reason to feel the need for that baseball hat anymore.

5 Steps For Mastering Your Metabolism

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Trying to get in shape while neglecting your metabolism is like trying to push a boulder up a steep hill. And most people are simply misinformed when it comes to keeping the metabolic fires burning.

Perhaps you have reached a plateau because of a compromised metabolism?

So here is how to go sleeveless in 7 days and get slim by mastering your metabolism:

1. Regularly spike your caloric intake: If you do not do this and eat too little calories, your metabolism will eventually sink. Even worse, your body will not retain a toned and tight look, instead it will look flabby and loose.

2. Don’t neglect protein: Your body needs a certain amount of protein to function at the highest metabolic rate. The key here is to not overdo it here. You see, if you have too much, your energy will drop and so will your metabolism.

3. Eat before your workouts: You want to have small meals here, but you need to eat something. You see, failing to eat will have you burning less fat and exercising with less intensity-a horrible combo for maximum metabolic effects.

4. Combine caffeine and catechins: Coffee only has caffeine, caffeine-free green tea only has catechins. So the best option here is loose leaf green tea-the most potent form of green tea. You see, loose leaf has both caffeine and catechins.

5. Drink water often in small amounts: Simply drinking water when you eat or when you are extremely thirsty is not an effective way to lose weight. Instead, drink it in small amounts during the day. This approach will keep your metabolic fires burning nonstop.

Getting your metabolism as high as it will go is a great way to make sure you keep on losing weight far into your program. And this is where most people fail. They can start off losing weight, but can’t maintain the losses.

The American Dental Association & Teeth Whitening?

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Teeth Whitening

Medical studies acknowledge that the same exact tooth whitening treatments you get from a dental office (namely bleaching with 16-22% teeth whitening gel) will be equally reliable when employed in your own home. It’s also easily clear that a customized pair of tooth whitening trays and teeth whitening gel obtained from a dental office should cost 4 to 5 times as much as precisely the same tooth whitening kit currently offered by a dependable skin clinic.

But think about the shopping mall kiosks that offer “expert” tooth whitening services and products? The ADA (American Dental Association) is actually against it. For that matter, at least one state (Massachusetts) has restricted the selling of professional teeth whitening items from the mall.

The reasoning is simple: The most effective lightening takes place when you start with a healthy mouth. Tooth decay, damaged teeth, and infected or exposed gums should be identified and taken care of before beginning a detailed bleaching treatment – or else, you might irritate gums needlessly or inadvertently make a dental problem grow worse.

Although the actual substances in bleaching products are generally standardized and documented as safe and sound for use, it is particularly critical that consumers which employ professional strength teeth whitening systems are usually conscientious to keep current with their regular dental upkeep and hygiene.

Of distinct attention will be the shoe store kiosk options who mix expert power lightening teeth whitening gel together with laser whitening procedures. In the hands of unlicensed providers, a lot of these laser treatments may produce quite a few issues such as burns along the gums or lip area as a result of defective use of the Ultra violet light equipment.

The lightening offered in the familiar local mall kiosk is entirely unregulated. The ADA is also concerned with having these kind of treatments entirely at the disposal of practitioners that are sufficiently educated to prevent or identify ordinary types of contamination control:

“Dental business team members will be properly trained in disease control techniques which comply with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s instructions. The specifications comprise such treatments as swapping exam gloves and disinfecting work areas immediately after every patient visit, cleansing hands and wrists and sticking with other disease suppressant treatments.”

To be clear, though unforeseen claims have occurred concerning the brightening services furnished in local retailer kiosks, the Massachusetts Dental Society tells people it doesn’t have any evidence anybody has already been harmed at a mall whitening shop.

Yet, the best thing for a shopper to do before brightening your pearly white’s with a pro power system is to make certain you are current with regards to your standard dental examinations whenever you do. For example, the Shine teeth whitening Teeth Whitening service, is known as a Select Partner of Medical Spa MD and therefore, is quick to advise that laser clinics which aid their own customers in capturing dental impressions take each and every care to use sanitary examination gloves and to sanitize any work surface the items touch. The laser treatment centers that carry Shine teeth whitening programs are also coached to make an impression upon their customers the need for consistent attention from their ordinary dental practitioner.

Shine Teeth Whitening is a Select Partner of MedicalSpaMD.com, a cosmetic medical community of Plastic Surgeons, Cosmetic Dermatologists, laser clinics and medical spas with more than 3,500 physician members. Shine offers teeth whitening trays for physicians, laser clinics and day spas.

The Importance Of Controlling Our Bad Food Intake

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

As I am sure you are aware, there has been a rise in the consciousness of what we eat. It has been stated many times to us that eating a lot of fruits and vegetables is good for us, and that eating a lot of fatty foods will give us heart attacks and make us obese.

How true is that though? How much attention should we really be paying to what we eat?

Of course, I am a fan of being as healthy as I can be. I like to keep active, and work out at least four times a week. I try not to overload on junk food, but try is the key word.

Like many of us, when I was growing up I had my fair share of junk food, like most of the kids I knew. I turned out fine, but was I one of the lucky ones?

Unfortunately some of my childhood friends are already suffering health problems, due, in large part, to the diets they had while growing up. Two of my friends are morbidly obese, and one of them came from two thin parents, so I doubt this is a genetic thing. Another friend of mine now has bowel problems.

At least two of these friends had absolutely horrid diets while they were growing up. I’m talking about daily lunch at the deli, sugary soft drinks, many sweets, and at any time of the day or night. Also one of those friends smoked, so I am sure that didn’t help his current health.

Worse yet is that many of the teenagers I see now are following in their footsteps. While I acknowledge that some people from my generation had unhealthy lifestyles growing up, it was no where near as common as it is today.

Yes, eating junk food does affect us negatively. It is not that you cannot eat it, but that if you must eat it, do so in moderation.

The gap between these young kids of the ‘Jamie Oliver’ generation and my own generation is never so obvious as when I look at our common eating habits. However, providing that these kids do not pass their bad habits on to their own kids, and the new heath consciousness keeps up, I am sure this won’t be a long term problem.
