Tips and Tricks for Makeup Styles.

Friday, March 12th, 2010

The universe of makeup is filled with stunning worlds populated by elegant eyeshadows, luxurious lippies and beautiful blushers. You can easily make a style your own with the phenomenal catalogue of makeup on the market, allowing us to invent a whole new look for every occasion, be it work, parties, nights out or dates.

It’s best to draw attention either to your lips or to your eyes, depending on what you consider to be your best feature. Of course, the other brilliant thing about makeup is it helps you to not only enhance what you’ve already got, but improve on what you have less of. In order to do this, you should get your hands on some decent makeup. They don’t have to be products that break the bank, but having one or two especially good items in your collection can really make a difference. If you are a fan of wearing eyeliner, get Mac’s Penultimate Eyeliner or Bobbi Brown’s Gel Eyeliner. If you are a lipstick kind of lass, pick up your favourite shade in Guerlain’s Kiss Kiss range. These are just three high quality, essential brands you can add to your bag.

You must, must, must remember that when buying a new foundation, you must get one with and SPF factor of at least 15. The lovely sun can cause damage to your skin cells all year round, therefore you need to protect it all year round. If you already have a foundation and it’s not got an SPF, try putting on some normal protective lotion before you apply anything else to your face! Some of us suffer from oily, dry or combination skin and luckily there are plenty of foundations out there specifically tailored to whatever condition your skin is in. Of course, wearing no foundation and moisturising frequently is the best thing for your skin, but we know how frustrating spots and blemishes can be.

The Best Make Up Style For Me. You are probably aware that slapping on layers of makeup for work is inappropriate and unsuitable. Not only is it going to start wearing off and make you look like an aging rock chick, but it’s going to leave a terrible impression on your colleagues and you probably want to impress them and not make them run for their lives. The best way to go about your office makeup is to keep it natural and simple. Nothing too dark, nothing too wild, just your usual foundation, a bit of blusher, a natural coloured eyeshadow and maybe a little flick of mascara, so long as it isn’t the thick, clumpy kind. Lancome and Max Factor provide two of the best mascaras on the market with Hypnose and False Lash Effect, which comes in waterproof, too! If your eyes pop already, there is really no need to go mad with the eyeliner, but a little flick at the corner of the eyes is always flattering. A liquid liner with a short brush will be the easiest to use for those who are out of practise, or better yet, Mac’ Penultimate Eyeliner.

The greatest thing about makeup for nights out is you can get a little bit wild and original, so long as you know your limits and don’t end up looking a 12 year old girl after she’s invaded her Mum’s makeup collection. You can go for whatever style you think suits you. Just remember that your makeup still has to match or compliment your outfit (unless it’s a theme night and mismatching is required!) Similarly to office styles, choose either your lips or your eyes to accentuate. If your eyes are naturally fabulous and your lashes naturally long and curly, there’s no use spoiling them with too much going on. All you need is a little bit of good, volumising mascara and a tiny little flick of eyeliner. If you’re very adventurous, pick up a vibrant eyeshadow and get creative with it! For those who are blessed with voluptuous, full lips, you can probably get away with rose red and hot pink lipsticks. Don’t be afraid to test things out! Get your friends involved! They’ll tell you what looks good and what definitely doesn’t.

You can find high quality, leading brandmakeup at stunningly low prices.

Spray Tan Guidelines – Attaining Great Results The First Time!

Friday, March 12th, 2010

The summer is my favorite season. I love the warmth of the sun’s rays and I also love the great tan that I always get from it. As a matter of fact, I love the tan so much that I can’t stand it when summer goes and autumn & winter arrive. Thankfully, nowadays we have spray on tans to remedy this little problem!

The market for spray on tans has gotten really big in recent years. Today’s market is completely flooded with all sorts of spray tans, some good and some not so good. Some of the good ones can still give you a horrible tan if you use them incorrectly. A spray on tan will never do all the work for you!

I’ve tried many spray on tans in the last few years. I know which ones work and which ones doesn’t. The same goes for tan bed accelerators. I’ve used many of those as well. With accelerators, you still need to find yourself a tanning bed. With a spray on tan, the tanning bed is not necessary anymore. Here are a few tips on getting the best results with spray tans!

1. Exfoliation & Washing. Prior to applying any sort of self tanning spray, make sure that you have scrubbed your body and that you have also cleansed it. Any natural exfoliation cream will do. Make sure to apply it all over your body. Your face, knees and elbows… everything! Then take a good shower!

2. Moisturization. If you want the best results, please hydrate yourself properly before spraying yourself with a tan. If you do this a few hours before applying the spray on, you will prepare your skin to readily accept the sprayed on tan.

3. Experiment. This is especially important if you are a first timer at this. Before applying a spray tan, decide which part of your body you want to try it out on first. Don’t do a full body tanning on your first go. First you need to determine what kind of skin you have and how it reacts to the spray tan.

4. Clothes. Once you’ve decided which part of your body needs to get a tan, find clothes that cover the body parts that you do not want to tan. Also, make sure to wear rubber gloves in order to avoid over exposing your hands to the stuff.

If you stick to these very important guidelines, chances of your tan going wrong are greatly diminished. Keep experimenting, because there is always room for improvement!

Selecting Herbal Natural Skin Care For A Bright Clear Complexion

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Skin care is not a topic of recent times; it has been in practice since ancient times, when herbal natural skin care was probably the only way to take care of skin. However, skin care has transformed in a big way. Herbal skin care routines have been replaced by synthetic/chemical-based natural skin care routines. The herbal skin care recipes which once used to be common place are not so popular today (and even unknown to a large population). This transformation from herbal skincare to synthetic, can probably be attributed to two things – our laziness (or just the fast pace of lives) and the commercialization of natural skin care. Even herbal natural skin care products have been commercialized. These commercial herbal skin care products have to be mixed with preservatives in order to increase their shelf-life, hence making them less effective than the fresh ones made at home. However, it seems that things are changing fast and more people are now opting for natural and herbal skincare routines. But still, none want to make them at home and hence the commercial market of herbal skincare products is on the rise.

So what are these herbs or herbal skin care mechanisms?

Aloe vera, which is an extract from Aloe plant, is one of the best examples of herbal skincare product. Freshly extracted aloe vera is a natural hydrant that helps in soothing skin. It also helps in healing cuts and treating sun burns.

A number of herbs are known to possess cleansing properties. Dandelion, chamomile, lime flowers and rosemary herbs, are a few examples of such cleansers. Their herbal natural skin care properties get invoked when they are combined with other herbs like tea.

Antiseptics are another important part of Herbal skin care. Lavender, marigold, thyme and fennel are good examples of herbs that are known to possess antiseptic properties. Lavender water and rose water also form good toners.

Tea plays an important part in herbal skin care. Tea extracts are used for treatment of skin that has been damaged by UV radiation.

Oils prepared from herbal extracts present another means of herbal skincare. Tea tree oil, Lavender oil, borage oil and primrose oil are some popular oils used in herbal skin care. Some fruit oils (e.g. extracts from fruits like banana, apple and melon) find use in shower gels (as a hydrating mix)

Homeopathic treatments and aromatherapies also come under the umbrella of herbal skincare remedies.

Herbal skincare is good not only for the routine nourishing of skin but also for treatment of skin disorders like eczema and psorasis. Most herbal natural skin care products don’t have any side effects (the most important reason for preferring them over synthetic products) Moreover, herbal skincare products can be easily made at home, hence making them even more attractive. So, herbal skincare is the way to go. However, this does not mean that you totally discard the synthetic products. Some people go to the extent of debating with their dermatologist, if he/she suggests a synthetic product. You should accept the fact that some skin orders might need usage of clinically proven non-herbal skin care products.

Are Natural Skincare Products The Answer To Your Skin’s Issues?

Friday, March 12th, 2010

When it comes to skin care products, you will find that a lot of people are very particular about using only natural skincare products. They treat all the synthetic products as harmful to the skin.

So, are natural skincare products the answer to all of our difficulties? What if a natural skincare product is not available for the treatment of a particular skin disorder? Are the synthetic skincare products so harmful that they should be banned?

Different people have different answers to these questions. However, the reality is that due to presence of synthetic preservatives, it’s really tough to find a natural skincare product that is 100% natural. There are natural skin care products that have natural preservatives, but their cost might be detrimental. Moreover, such natural skin products have a shorter shelf life and hence are not preferred by the manufacturers of natural skincare products.

Some people carry a wrong notion that since natural skincare products are natural, they cannot cause any harm to the skin. The suitability of a skincare product is not based on whether it is synthetic or natural. An unsuitable natural skin care product can harm you in almost the same way as a synthetic one. So, use natural skin care products, but be open to synthetic ones too (you might need them when a natural solution is not available)

Your selection of a natural skin care product should be based on 3 factors:

* The skin type (dry, oily, normal, sensitive) of the person who will use that natural skin care product

* The climatic conditions in which it will be used e.g. hot and humid condition would warranty the use of oil-free natural skincare products.

* The process for application/use of the natural skincare product. A good natural skincare product (in fact any product) can seem useless if not used in the proper way.

You can also make natural skincare products by yourself, by using the recipes that are readily available on the internet and in the books at book stores.

Use of organic fruits and vegetables is also popular as a natural skincare procedure. Some essential oils, herbal oils, are useful too and are known for their moisturizing and antiseptic properties

However, using a natural skin care product does not mean that you can exercise carelessness with other aspects of skincare. Natural skin care products should be used like supplements to the following ‘essential’ recommendations: healthy eating habits (avoiding oily food), regular exercise, drinking a lot of water (8 glasses everyday), and cleanliness. This will then form a perfect and completely natural skin care routine that will help maintain a healthy beautiful skin for longer time.

Choosing The Right Facial Skin Care Product

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Talking about skincare, ‘facial skin care’ seems to top the chart. There are loads of facial natural skin care products available in the market. The most common facial skin care products are the ones that are used as part of daily routine. These include things like cleansers and moisturizers. Toners and exfoliation ones are well known too but not many people use them as such.

The general classification of facial skin care products is based on the following:

* Gender (so there are facial skincare products for men and there are facial skincare products for women)

* Skin type (facial skin products for oily skin, facial skincare products for dry skin, facial skin care products for normal skin and facial natural skin care products for sensitive skin)

* Age (facial skincare products for old and facial skin care products for young)

* Skin disorder (i.e. facial skincare products for treatment of various skin orders like eczema, acne etc)

So that is your starting point for choosing a facial natural skin care product that suits you. A good way to start is by determining your skin type first. Also note that the skin type changes with age, so the facial skin product that suits you today, might not suit you forever and hence you need to constantly evaluate the effectiveness of your facial skin care product.

The facial natural skin care products are available in various forms i.e. creams, lotions, gels, masks etc, and a lot of people try to pit one against the other in their discussion on which form is best. However, one can’t really rate one form as better than another form. What suits you (and whatever you are comfortable with) is the best form of facial natural skin care product for you, really.

However, it’s important to note that these products work differently for different people. So the best thing is to try the facial skincare product on a small patch of skin (e.g. ear lobes) before actually going ahead and using it.

Another important consideration is the state of your skin. If you are suffering from a skin disorder of any kind, it is best to seek the advice of a dermatologist before you actually make your selection and start using a facial skin care product.

Once you have selected the facial natural skin care product for yourself, you also need to ensure that you use the facial skin care product in the right way i.e. follow correct procedures for application, use the correct quantity and make the facial product a part of your natural skin care routine.

4 Reasons Why High Carb Diets Can Increase Jiggly Arm Flab

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Figuring the right nutritional approach for losing arm flab can be like finding a needle in a haystack because with all the marketing campaigns out there the truth has been hidden amongst all the falsehoods.

I’m pretty sure you’re having a challenge finding the perfect diet.

If you are, don’t worry. I suspect many women are in your exact same situation. I remember when I used to get so frustrated with all the different diets out there.

So here are 4 reasons why you shouldn’t go on a high carb diet for arm flab loss:

1. Sugar overdose. Being around lots of carbs means being around lots of sugar in one form or another. And if you have a sugar addiction you should definitely stay away from high carb eating. After all, once you start having sugar it will be very hard to stop.

2. Reduced insulin effectiveness. If your body gets too many carbs at once, it will become insulin resistant. This horrible state makes it hard for muscles to absorb nutrients. And if your muscles aren’t absorbing nutrients then your arm fat is.

3. Hunger swings. Lots of carbs translates into fluctuating levels of blood sugar. And once your blood sugar goes down, you’ll be very very hungry. The key here is to have massive amounts of vegetables with EVERY high carb meal. Only then will blood sugar be somewhat stabilized.

4. Sluggish arm fat loss. If you’re looking for fast results this probably isn’t the diet for you. When cranking up the carb intake, fat loss comes at a very slow rate.

Now high carb diets can work for some women: those with fast metabolisms and no insulin resistance. How can you tell if you’re insulin resistant? Look at your stomach and if it’s disproportionately large compared to your other body parts, then you may be insulin resistant. Insulin resistance increase visceral fat, the fat that is around the organs in your stomach.

5 Lies About Reducing Bingo Wings And Protein

Friday, March 12th, 2010

There is simply way too much confusion out there because of all the fad diets and all the marketers. Women are more confused than ever when it comes to flabby arms and protein. Perhaps you are confused like I used to be?

I used to be lost amongst all the information.

Finding the truth can be like finding a needle in a haystack. There is simply way too much marketing material to navigate. Unfortunately, not knowing how to tweak your protein consumption can set back your flabby arms mission.

Thus, here are 5 myths about arm fat and protein intake:

1. Whole food is not as good as supplemental protein. This is a great statement for the supplement companies, but not for women wishing to reduce arm fat. Do not be swayed by the marketing claims, whole food will always be a better source of protein.

2. Having protein shakes galore reduces flabby arms. While protein from REGULAR FOOD improves hormonal profiles and regulates hunger, going overboard with shakes will set you back because you’ll get tons of calories without a sense of fullness.

3. Fast absorbing protein is best. Just like with carbohydrates, slower digestion is better. Any time you spike a nutrient in your bloodstream there is going to be a subsequent drop. And protein is no exception.

4. Bigger is better. We love big portions and protein is no exception. If your protein intake exceeds 30% of your total caloric intake, however, the positives turn into negatives. So have small servings of protein in every meal and stay away from the meat buffets.

5. Hormone-enhanced meat is bad. There have NOT been any solid studies showing a direct link to hormone-enhanced meat and a decrease in female health. However, there are solid ethical (and ecological) arguments for avoiding said meats.

Losing arm fat doesn’t have to give you a headache. And with the above information you are a couple steps closer to optimizing your protein intake. After all, knowing how to eat protein the right way is critical for sexy arm success.

Author Katherine Crawford, a Harvard fitness physiologist and former arm fat sufferer, instructs women on how to reduce arm fat once and for all. Learn how to get sexy and toned arms by exploring her blog about how to get rid of upper arm fat with the best techniques right now!

The Impact Of Perleche

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Nowadays, our world offers us the chance to live the life that we enjoy and want. Almost literally, there is something out there for all types of people. Do you like sports? If you do, then you can enjoy it in many ways like: watching it in person or on TV, gathering some friends to play it in the local gym, or maybe even playing videogame versions of it. Any way you want to enjoy your interest, it is very possible that you can. The ways in which we can enjoy and express ourselves are plentiful, and we should really be thankful that we have been given an opportunity like that.

Depressingly enough, there are persons who tend to abuse the freedom that they have in their hands. It is evident in so many ways, such as the person who overworks himself with no thought for his health and safety and the person who lazily waits for every blessing to come his way. These people have a sense of misguided entitlement, believing that since they can do anything, they will do anything. No longer are they thinking of the consequences of their actions; they just simply act and act. Because of their lack of foresight, their bodies tend to grow ill and deteriorate in just a short period of time.

With that issue in mind, this post will delve into a possible consequence of their unsafe lifestyles. The issue of choice will be angular cheilitis, or specifically, perleche. Perlche might be foreign to most of you, but it is really just a bad form of chapped lips. We all know that chapped lips happen due to dehydration and vitamin deficiency. Some people view chapped lips as just a minor discomfort that they can live with and wait until it goes away. However, by not treating it immediately, you are exposing yourself to the possibility of it growing to become perleche.

Therefore, what is a good perleche treatment? A simple, yet effective, way of curing it early on is by using lip balms as soon as signs of chapped lips start. Open wounds are notorious for being the entry points of bacteria, so not treating them will only worsen your condition. Also, you can drink lots of fluids, take vitamins and get proper rest everyday.

Therefore, don’t wait until your chapped lips get worse. In fact, just try to avoid it altogether by following the simple suggestions outlined above. Freedom is great, but we should never abuse it.
